Highlight for the day today for Josh was catching a Gecko before school and having him on his shoulder as a short term companion. He managed to negotiate with his teacher Mr Mark, that if it wasnt a distraction, he could wear him on his shoulder in class. So Josh wore him for the morning in class, released him for lunch break, caught him again and wore him on his shoulder for the afternoon before letting him go again at the end of school - what more could a boy possibly ask for from school ???
Last night we caught up with Steph, our other volunteer friend and some of the Lifestart Foundation crew. Steph, Pete & I dinked (? dunk) the 3 boys into Old Hoi An town, across the bridge and over the other side (a 10 min ride from our place) to a restaurant overlooking the river and the lights of Hoi An. Just as we all arrived and got inside, a huge downpour errupted.
Had a fun meal with the boys all ordering a coconut each - served as a drink & dessert all in one along with mealtime entertainment trying to get into the thing.
We all parted company afterwards and Pete, Steph & I dinked the boys back over the river to our now-favourite DVD store so I could get a new CD for the exercise group we are running at Lifestart Foundation. Have been listening to the same music for the last 2.5 weeks at work & decided it was time to freshen it up.
Waved good bye to Steph as she headed back to Danang & the 5 of us (on 3 bikes) rode home in another downpour. The boys thought it was fantastic riding round the streets at night and in the pouring rain.
