A couple of weeks ago we took a trip to My Son which is the site of Vietnam's most extensive Cham remains. My Son was once the most important intellectual and religious centre of the kingdom of Champa and holds an important place in Vietnam's history.
We were welcomed by traditional dancing and music.
The buildings and temples are made up of small bricks that are stacked together with out any mortar, or anything else to hold them together.
Once the structure in in place many features are carved out of the stone and bricks.
There are about 20 structures left of the original 68 and they have a program of restoration which is quite exciting to see in action.
